Cosmetic Surgery /
Labiaplasty is a surgical technique that can reduce excessive hypertrophy or enlargement of the labia minora of the vulva and improve their symmetry.
Who makes a good labiaplasty patient?
Any woman in good physical and psychological health who wants to improve the appearance of her labia minora, for reasons such as dissatisfaction with their appearance, ageing and childbirth.
The surgeon should assess each case individually and provide detailed information and a quote.
This procedure is usually carried out on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic. In most cases the size of the labia minora is reduced in a procedure that takes about 45 minutes. It is possible to carry out other surgery at the same time.
You may experience some mild swelling and discomfort in the affected area after labiaplasty, for which you will be prescribed the necessary care. You will be left with a suture which will come out on its own after approximately 10 days.
You can return to your everyday activities 3-4 days after the procedure, but you should avoid intense exercise and sexual relations for 4-6 weeks.
Patients are generally very satisifed with their labiaplasty results, with improvements in the physical appearance of the area and in sexual relations, and an increase in the woman’s sense of wellbeing and self esteem.
